Transitioning from breastfeeding to bottle feeding can be quite difficult for mom and baby. Babies seek breastfeeding for both nutrition and comfort. When breastfed infants are introduced to a bottle in most cases they reject it due to its unfamiliarity. The baby tends not to relate the bottle to a food source and do not connect with it. However, the minbie is a bottle designed with the full comfort of the baby in mind.
The minbie has teats which are shaped like the mothers nipple. This makes it easier for the baby to latch on. The nipple of the bottle is also designed for specific age ranges. This also ensures the flow of the bottle matches the developmental stage of the baby.
My son is 1 years old and is just getting introduced to table food. After completing a full meal he wanted to be breastfed. I wanted him to use a bottle but he had a difficult time embracing it. He did not want to drink from it nor did he want to hold it. Since, he knows that I carry the milk he pushed the bottle away. I began letting a family member feed him so he was more accepting of the bottle.
When my son began to see the bottle as a food source he became more comfortable, but did not want to hold the bottle himself. I was patient enough to hold the bottle for him until he felt more comfortable. Please check out the video below to see how my one year old Theo adjusts to the Minbie Glass Bottle.
