Keeping up with pacifier is difficult. My son spits his out often, with no regard of where it lands. For sanitary purposes I want to avoid allowing the pacifier to hit the ground or any other unclean surfaces. I use pacifier clips so I can have one less worry.
I personally prefer to use my pacifier clips when I am going on an outing. You can even use two of the clips in conjunction with a stroller to hold on to a baby blanket during chilly weather. The clip can also hold teething toys, stuffed animals, or other knick knacks that soothe your child when they aren't at home.
